Format for Written Test

  1. The first part of the Quiz competition is written test.
  2. This test consists of multiple choice, True and False, matching the columns questions for all levels.
  3. Level 1 will have 40 Questions and Levels 2,3,4,5 will have 50 Questions.
  4. For level 1 and 2, proctors in the classrooms read and explain the questions.
  5. In case of ties, students are given another test to break the tie.
  6. Five top scorers from each level go for the oral competition in the auditorium.
  7. In order to qualify for the final round, the student must score at least 80% or above.

Main Round

  • Five Finalists will be selected from each level
  • There will be three types of Rounds

First Round: No Buzzer Round

  1. Questions will be asked to each participant directly
  2. Participants will have 10 seconds to answer the question
  3. If the answer is correct, the participant will receive +2 points
  4. There is no Negative marking for the No-Buzzer Round

Second Round: Buzzer Round

  1. The moderator will ask a question and the participant, who presses the buzzer first, will be given the opportunity to answer
  2. The participant will have 10 seconds to answer the question
  3. If the answer is correct, the participant will receive +2 points
  4. But since this is a Buzzer round, the participant will receive -2 point for an incorrect answer or No answer within the time limit
  5. Level 1 will be excluded from buzzer round.

Third Round: Tie Break Round (If needed)

  1. In case of a Tie after first and second round, the participants will be asked further questions.

  3. The participant will have 10 seconds to answer the question
  4. If the answer is correct, the participant will receive +2 points

Additional Considerations:

  • In case of an incomplete answer or some other dispute, the Judges will consult among themselves then they will either
  1. a)  Award partial credit (+1 point)

Or (in case of a serious dispute)

  1. b) Void the question altogether, in which case the participant will not receive any points
  • If a participant reaches a net score of –3 point, the Judges will inform the Moderator and this participant will no longer participate
  • The Winner and the Runner-up will be determined based on their Net Scores
